BS8436 Cable Description

BS8436 cables are rated for 300/500V and feature a tubular aluminum shielding structure. They can be installed in walls, partitions, and building gaps at a depth of less than 50 mm. These cables are designed to avoid the risk of damage or penetration from nails or other fasteners. This standard cable must pass six nail penetration tests and remain functional after each test.

BS8436 cables operate over a temperature range of -25°C to +90°C. Key characteristics include a longitudinal aluminum tube for mechanical and electromagnetic protection, and a low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH) outer sheath to minimize halogen-free fumes and acidic gases generated during a fire.
