Flexible Stranded Copper Conductor Description

Flexible stranded copper conductors are made from multiple strands of fine, soft copper wire, a design that provides them with both flexibility and strength and resilience.

7/7/0.51 mm copper-magnesium (CuMg) and 19/7/0.71 mm flexible stranded copper conductors serve as drop wires, connecting the catenary conductors to the contact wire at fixed intervals and also supporting auxiliary conductors. Additionally, stainless steel solid messengers can be used in overhead electrification projects where flexible stranded copper conductors are not suitable for installation or environmental reasons.
