Bare Copper Conductor Description

Bare copper conductors are simply copper wires, which makes them efficient at carrying current while minimizing resistance, making them ideal for a variety of applications. Copper is also naturally corrosion-resistant, making it suitable for some outdoor applications.

Bare copper conductors can be solid (a single strand) or stranded (multiple strands twisted together). Stranded conductors offer greater flexibility than solid conductors, making them useful in applications where the wires need to bend or pass through tight spaces.

We offer both annealed stranded copper and hard-drawn stranded copper. Annealed stranded copper is more flexible than hard-drawn copper, which in turn is more flexible than solid, hard-drawn copper conductors.

Annealed stranded bare copper is manufactured by EN 13602 and EN 60228 and is commonly used in renewable energy (including solar farms) and battery storage projects. Hard-drawn stranded bare copper, on the other hand, is manufactured by BS7884 and is more commonly used in the railway industry.
