Cat 5E Cable Description
Cat5e cables typically use RJ45 connectors and come in shielded (F/UTP) and unshielded (U/UTP) versions. Compared to older Cat5 cables, this cable offers significant improvements in overall performance and data transmission speed, as well as better crosstalk performance.
Shielded Ethernet cables are generally recommended for long-distance cabling, outdoor use, or locations requiring wall penetration and potentially involving numerous other electrical connections nearby. For short-distance indoor cabling with low crosstalk potential, unshielded Ethernet cables are usually sufficient.
